TAPE-DATACHEN DA APPLIED MATERIALS
High-temperature masking tapes

The area is small.
The requirement matters.

When part of a component needs protection, the tape needs to suit what happens before, during and after processing.

Tell us where the tape will be applied and what it will encounter. We’ll first understand your requirements, then recommend tape options and share the relevant technical datasheets.

Beyond a temperature number

What happens
in your process?

A temperature rating alone doesn’t tell the whole story. How long the tape is exposed, what it touches and how it needs to be removed all help define the requirement.

We discuss these conditions with you when reviewing high-temperature tape options for electronics and IC process protection.

Four details that guide tape selection.

What needs protecting?

Start with the contact material and the area that must be masked. A general description is enough for an initial discussion.

What will the tape encounter?

Share the temperature, exposure time and any other relevant process conditions. These help narrow the material review.

How should it come off?

Tell us your removal conditions and residue requirements so these can be included in the evaluation.

How will it be applied?

Roll tape may be suitable. A custom-cut shape may be worth considering where placement or handling is difficult.

From tape selection
to a shape you can use.

If the application calls for a defined shape, we can discuss material selection and die-cutting together. This keeps the liner, handling details and supply format in the same conversation.

Material properties and application suitability must be confirmed for the selected product and your process conditions.

Before you get in touch

A few useful starting points.

Can we start without a tape specification?

Yes. Start with the surface to be protected, temperature and exposure time, and how the tape needs to be removed. We can discuss which material details need to be confirmed.

Can the tape be supplied as a custom shape?

We can review the material and die-cut design together, including the liner and roll or sheet format. Feasibility is evaluated for the proposed material and geometry.

Which performance figures should we use?

We first discuss your application and tape requirements. We then recommend suitable tape options and provide the corresponding technical datasheets for your review.

Can we discuss samples for evaluation?

Yes. Sampling is available. Once we understand your application and the proposed material or part design, we can discuss a sample plan and the arrangements for your evaluation.

A conversation is a good first step

Tell us what the tape
needs to do.

A brief description is enough to begin. Tell us what you’re trying to protect, what needs to change, or where the current approach is difficult.
